Traditionally handwoven on looms by Berber women of the Beni Ourain tribe in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Made from natural organic, thick sheep’s wool these high pile rugs are luxurious and soft underfoot. Each piece, which can take months to weave, is intricately designed using centuries old weaving techniques making each rug one of a kind. This style of rug is typically monochromatic (although some may have colour accents) with geometric motifs. Timeless, elegant statement rugs for those who do not wish to compromise on style and comfort.
Due to the age and handmade nature of these rugs our 'old' and 'vintage' pieces may show signs of age and wear, having lived a life in Berber homes in Morocco prior to purchase. Small repaired or unrepaired tears and holes, uneven and asymmetrical edges, natural fading, fraying, small stains and additional imperfections may be evident. We believe these visual elements only enhance and further tell a story of the rug’s history, making them exceptional items to own.
